The hum of the treadle, the whooosh of the shuttle, warping and wefting while the fabric almost weaves itself! Music to my ears …

Each 12” square was completely hand woven using cotton and silk threads. The squares are hand sewn to create a canvas for embroidery. The Tree of Life reaches up and out, telling the story through hand embroidered stitches, reminiscent of its ancient craft. Embellishments of fish and elephant wheel come from un petit atelier in the 11th arrondissement in Paris. Woven on a Saori loom.

36” x 36” tapestry mounted on natural linen mat and framed to 40” x 40”.

A piano piece from my childhood - Spinning Wheel by Albert Ellmenreigh - came time mind as my hands moved back and forth, up and down and all around!
